Bart taunts his sister Lisa at a school play, resulting in a fight.
As punishment, each of them is assigned a Pen Pal.
The two children live in neighboring, very poor villages.
Lisa helps her pen pal obtain a contribution from the USA to rebuild the bridge that will bring prosperity to the village.
Bart convinces his pen pal to play pranks at the factory where he works.
The pranks in the factory cause its closure and the ruin of the village.
Thanks to the new bridge, the newly unemployed flock to the nearby village, causing its collapse.
