Yorick Brown, Agent 355 and Dr. Mann arrive in Arizona and are blocked by 8 female National Guardsmen.
The women, angry at the government they believe is responsible for the epidemic, blocked the highway, the only way to get to California.
The three travelers meet a young mechanic, P.J., who agrees to host them.
Dr. Mann decides to go talk to the women on the block and is captured.
355 follows her shortly after and is captured as well.
The youngest of the rebel group reaches the workshop and kills P.J.
Yorick is forced to kill her.
355 manages to kill the other rebels, saving Dr. Mann.
After two years of travel, the group arrives a few kilometers from San Francisco and Yorick enters a Catholic church to confess his sins.
Here he meets Beth, a former stewardess, with whom he ends up having sex (the first time since the beginning of the epidemic).
Beth and Yorick are attacked by a group of Amazons, but Yorick manages to scare them away, posing as God.
In Australia, meanwhile, his girlfriend Beth is still alive and is captured by the Aboriginals.
