In the near future The United States has been enslaved by the Demonites, after they merged with Sentinel technology.
Most of the mutants, super-heroes and ESPs have been killed or enslaved.
Among the prisoners we find Savant, VooDoo, Lord Emp, Warblade, Storm and Shadowcat.
Instead, Zealot, Majestic, Cable and Phoenix are held under torture.
Grifter and Wolverine are arriving from Canada, intending to destroy New York with a bomb.
Warblade sacrifices himself to free the prisoners, then Shadowcat, Lord Emp, Phoenix and Seer erase the arrival of Emp's Kheran spaceship from the past, preventing the arrival of that tragic future.
This story masterfully concludes the short Wildc.a.t.s/X-Men narrative cycle, also justifying the division between the Wildstorm and Marvel universes in an original way.
