The protagonist of this miniseries is Steve Rogers.
Steve Rogers returns to live on the Lower East Side, where he was born, in the same apartment as his mother.
The neighborhood doesn't seem to have changed much.
While on the radio with his WWII friends, Steve intercepts a coded message.
The message signals an attack during the 4th of July celebrations.
Captain America and Winter Soldier guard the parade.
The attacking terrorist is dressed as the Destroyer, WWII hero and friend of Cap.
The two heroes manage to stop it, but the shield is revealed to be a Nazi tool.
In the final it seems that Bucky Barnes was aware of it and knows that other attacks related to the shield and to a series of mysterious gems will follow.

In the headquarters of the Commission on Superhuman Activities, meanwhile, Falcon assists his cousin as she recovers from her kidnapping.
He discovers that there is an anomaly in her blood after she is kidnapped and subjected to experiments.
Falcon saves his cousin from the attack of some assassins led by Crossbones.
Captain America and Deadpool manage to escape the secret base, but are intercepted by Doctor Doom.
