In the center of the story are three characters.
Dagmar, transsexual, who had surgery to look like her favorite actress.
Beverly Grove, actress well known in Hollywood, strangely not aged despite half a century of career, who treats her "twin" Dagmar like a slave.
Cass Pollack, an ex-con, drug addict and alcoholic, who everyone is looking for.
Cass has just been released from prison, but some bad guys are hunting him.
They kill his wife and son and blame him, so the police are also looking for him.
Cass bumps into Beverly, who asks him for a ride and pays him back with a blow job.
Since then, his life has been a mess.
Beverly and Dagmar are blackmailed by a mysterious woman for a very compromising video Beverly made.
After making love to Cass, they ask him to help them get it back.
Threatened to be handed over to the police, he has to accept.
Cass discovers that the video is in the hands of a satanic cult, but still manages to recover it.
Dagmar sets a trap for him, to offer him as a sacrifice to Beverly.
Beverly is actually a vampire, but Cass daringly manages to kill her.
The same fate awaits Dagmar and the criminals who hunted him.
Classic noir intrigue, perhaps a little exaggerated and long, but undoubtedly engaging.
