Druuna is a beautiful girl who lives in a post-apocalyptic city.
The population is threatened by a mysterious mutant virus.
Those who become infected are relegated to the subsoil, but increasingly return to feed on the surface.
The problem is that they are carnivorous and always sexually excited.
Druuna's society is led by hooded priests, who rule the few survivors in terror.
Druuna hides her seriously infected boyfriend Schastar in her apartment.
To help him, he needs many doses of the virus-repressing serum.
The girl is willing to prostitute herself with the city doctor to get it.
Before reaching the hospital she is intercepted by a mutant, who is looking for Schastar.
In his explorations Schastar discovered something important and they need to find out what.
Druuna obtains the serum and temporarily cures her boyfriend.
Schastar shows her the way to the upper floor, where she can discover the secret, but dies to allow her to get there.
Druuna discovers that the humans transferred to the upper floors because they were healthy were actually vivisected to allow the ship's captain to survive for centuries.
In fact, the city is nothing more than a space ark, governed by a computer that controls the robot-priests.
